Seren's Football Match Report

SGIS Football Victory for JS Girls!!

On an early Friday morning Pilar, Ruby, Massima, Sienna, Dasha, Marie-Elizabeth, me and Camélia went to a football match by lake Geneva. It was at a school called Saint Georges and it was an international school as well. On the bus drive there we were all so scared of what would happen and if we would win or not. When we finished the drive we out of the bus and saw the size of the football pitch and were shocked about how large it was.

We soon started training and then we heard someone say that it was time to start the matches. We weren’t on first so we just sat and watched them play and the size of the girls that we were up against were huge compared to us! As well as St George’s, we were up against another school I can’t remember their name though .

The first matches that we played we either tied or won. We played two games and won one

Nervously, we waited for the score to come in and we found out that we were in the FINALS!

We were so happy but there was no time for celebration because we had to play our final match.

The game was exciting and long. At the end of a hard fought game, the score was 0 - 0. We knew what was up next; it was penalty shootouts.

Our team went first and Pilar scored, and then it was the other team and they missed. Ruby’s turn came and she scored again. Then it was all on me: if I missed they had won but if I scored then we would win…

All the pressure was on me.

As I walked up to the penalty spot … I did a run up and ...I scored!!!

The whole team came up rushing up to me and gave me a hug; we all were all so happy that we had won.
