Last week, we were lucky enough to be visited by the Swiss military drum corp.
It was a fantastic opportunity for cultural and musical enrichment and the children loved it.
Organized by Mr. Barras, a member of the division and also our IT administrator at Le Regent, the children were given the treat of watching several percussion presentations and listening to information given about the traditions and expectations associated with training with the Swiss Army.
The children were spellbound by the loud rhythmic renditions - it was hard not to be - but the part of the experience that they enjoyed the most was when they were given the chance to try some drumming of their own. No child would turn down the opportunity to make lots of noise with a drum at school!
As you can see from the video clips they were able to drum in rhythm and from direction really rather well.
