Themed Lunch: Day of the Dead!

Updated: Nov 9, 2022

On the 1st of November, the JS students were delighted to find that the Régent chefs had prepared a Mexican-themed lunch to celebrate Dios de los Muertos, otherwise known as The Day of the Dead.

Dios de los Muertos is a joyous celebration of life and death and is an important holiday celebrated among Mexican families.

One Grade 2 student (Carlota) was so touched by the lovely surprise that she shed tears of joy as she sat down to eat a festive Mexican meal of tortillas, maíz (corn), frijoles (beans) and pollo (chicken). She was so happy to enjoy a Mexican-themed meal at school with her classmates, and to share the meaning of the traditional holiday with her peers.
